She gave birth...
The little one is running back and forth through a forest carpeted in ferns as I type. I would do a video but my upload speed here is still not good enough.
I was thinking about Clouds of Confusion. How they come and go. Noted that they might become a useful component..
There are a lot of cloth stories waiting to be told...
I did not buy any of this cloth. With exception, maybe, of some muslin in varying weights, but that has a story too. Ready?

Wow, that is quite a stock of cloth. Wish I had that in watercolor paper, ha! Beautiful to have a young fawn. I had a mamma and a baby porcupine visit a couple of days ago. Adorable!
that’s all I have really, cloth. And books about cloth. When I moved I realized it was cloth first, left a lot of other stuff behind, don’t miss it at all.
I know they are around here but I’ve never actually seen a porcupine.
Oh my YES …..
so, SEW READY 🤩
Nature healing and cloth healing ❤️🩹 xo
everything seems so broken, healing is so welcomed.
You just brought my creativity back!! It was lost in my fibre/textile stash which I was thinking of donating. Not now – thank you for all the inspiration your photos and words bring to us. A gem in the forest!!
What if I make a cloth story blanket?
Lush loveliness, inside and out.
Our deer (whom we named “Jumper” and can you guess why?) returns each Spring with a fawn or two. This year she is spending part of every day in the shady side yard – with fawn, without fawn, or fawn is stashed there alone, for hours. So nice to know we are trusted. Hard to get garden work done, however.
Yes, the trust is such good medicine.
Beautiful picture of mama deer and child. What fun watching them.
I like your rolled fabric organization — no fold marks to iron out. Wish I’d thought of that. Love the big cat shadow on the wall. Don’t move that chair 😈
The rolls are easy to pull out and an easy way to see what’s there too. More cloth seems to fit in the space.
So tidy! And loving the rainbow basket of thread. I have a vague memory of a picture book called Cloudland. A happy place to float in…
Tidy? Ha!
Oh, the photos I could send you…!
Ha, I bet!
I took a deep close up look at your cloth treasures and boy I love it! It’s inspiration just looking at it! Thanks for the view….
They are even better up close!
Cloth tales about white tails while clouds sail.
a poem!
What a lovely thing to wake up to!
And that looks like “trade cloth”.
it’s amazing how much antique cloth there is here in this mix. Gosh I almost forgot how deep it goes.
Jude~ Yep, ready. I bet you’d arrive at as many ideas as you have cloth! I saw your butterfly chair as cat ears at first and noticed the lil cat playing the fiddle. Treasures, treasures, treasures…I could look & look for a long time.
It’s funny how moving brings it all back
Love seeing your stash !
it used to be sort of organized…😂
ooooooooH soooooooooo ready!!!… also want to hear more about “defining things collectively thru’ stories”. can not say thank u enough for sharing pics of your magical nest. as marti said, they fill us with JOY! it’s lovely to picture u in situ… x
Maybe the cabin will just be piles of scrap
So ready!
I think the cloth is ready too
I have sat just staring at your wonderful cloth stash. Looking at your cloth room to me is like looking at a library for cloth tells stories on its own but when we use it to create, the stories become personal and spill all over the place and that, to me, is simply, JOY!
I’m think of it as a kind of library yes, going through it will help me a lot. My life has been so much about cloth.
Ready!!
Hey ho!
Love seeing the mother and babe… outdoors we see beauty and love!! Enjoyed the clouds…the lies are blue today..but tomorrow is rain- again! Stay cool!
Yes nature heals…
I have fawns in the woods behind my house, too. A delight to watch.
they have such a light spring in their going
Looking forward to the cloth stories. Thanks for sharing a view of the cloth stash and of course the photo of Mama and babe is precious. Cheerio Jude!
there are actually a few more boxes still to be unpacked.
Looking forward to your fabric tales!
it’s a rabbit hole…
I’m ready! Love the cloth photo! Can’t wait to hear the back story.
Hugs
it’s like a reunion in that room with all those old friends
clouds of confusion. come and go. what do those clouds look like…
i love the old blog post. is the green cloth still around?
mama and babe are precious.
clouds will be fun to consider more closely.
Yes I believe there are still a few scraps of that old cloth in the scrap basket. 2006!
The clouds made me smile…
suddenly they became story characters
Beautiful photo 💚
I feel those clouds rolling in more frequently lately.
really, the clear skies here have helped my mood. A bit.
Y E S!
🙃
So ready!
Clouds. And Angel hair…a most beautiful capture of mama and baby…
I think of clouds as shapeshifters…
it would be interesting to define things collectively through stories.
me too
beauty all over your place
it’s glorious right now
