The gods are angry

So hey...

Let's kill a few more people shall we?  WTF? Seriously?

Why is nothing being done? Has everyone been bought?

Might be time to build a boat.  Or dig a deep shelter.

Maybe wishing is a kind of confusion?

One layer of confusion over another.

There are many ways to build an image.  And an opinion.

Shame on all of you. ( and by the way, this is not politics, it's common sense, decency )

Other than “Yes” to everything you express here, I have no words for what is happening. Well, I have lots of words. But it all catches in my head. Anger, disgust, despair – but here I am, safe, and feeling so unable to do anything to change all this. It’s crushing.

I believe that artists may feel all this more acutely than most others, because we focus so much on the beauty around us, and the peace we feel while doing the work we do.

I feel guilty to be the other side of the world in Australia and then full of trepidation as I gauge our govt doing their best to not be drawn into the conflict. How can this be happening? I despair and keep on keeping on.

Feeling helpless. So I’ll just dive deeper into mending (clothes, community, the broken clicker for my car doors….)

The really sad part is that world peace is not that difficult if everyone cooperates. One; treat others how you want to be treated. Two; take care of the less fortunate. Three; don’t try to convert anyone to your beliefs and leave them to their own.

Right on!!✌️I was a teenager during Vietnam. I loath war. I’m a retired special needs pre k teacher. Always worked on social skills and problem solving and kindness. So much for the “modeling” by our government. ❤️

It’s a power trip by a few selfish individuals with too much money for their own good. The world is their own Monopoly game. Bomb your enemies into the ground and be emperor of the world.
Keep protesting; the crowds are growing larger each month. Eventually it will do some good. Hope it isn’t too late. Mother Nature will win out in the end one way or another.

It’s beyond my understanding how last November America voted for this, or didn’t vote for what could have been.
    That’s my wtf.
I’m so sorry for all of You who knew this would be bad and tried to do the right thing.
I’ve never been more proud to be a Canadian with an intelligent, calm and strong leader who is demonstrating what it means to be “true North strong and free”.

I sort of understand on some level. But really, I will keep my deeper thoughts to myself at this point. That’s all history. It’s obvious we have a big problem right now. And it’s not just here.
Sure is nice to witness some calm intelligence.

it’s not politics that people should have access to health care, education, housing, food and be safe in the community. What’s happening is cruel, such a contrast to Jimmy Carter for example and other leaders. What can we do but stitch, hold our loved ones, our pets and mind nature while thinking thoughts to bring the world at peace.

As I have grown very old, there is comfort and even joy in a stronger awareness of the infinity of nature and truth that lives in the cosmos. No matter what.
In spite of human evolution gone awry (from its very beginning), that is not universal; there are, always have been and always will be, good people doing good things, with wisdom and devotion. No matter what.
Jude, you help me remember that; I breathe easy and deep with your posts.

  11. Jude~ I find relief in coming here an knowing so many feel the same way as I do. I find a pause and breath in your shared art…enough to carry on? I hope so. It sure helps.
I am so, so sad, angry, frustrated, disappointed…you name it. I barely mustered words to complete my own post, so I am grateful to come here and spew feelings With you all. xo

  12. And also to those here who think that artists should not let politics affect them, their work, or their words…
Do you have some sort of magic potion for this?
Are we to ignore reality? Ignore the pain and suffering going on around us? Never to speak of it in any derogatory manner? Be oblivious to the ruination of lives, stability, health of those affected?
I’ll leave it at that for now.

    • Glennis~ YES! You state this so well, because isn’t one of the roles of art & artist to speak up and out and express things that need expressing? Of course it is. May all who make art continue to rise up. xo

      • It can be if one chooses. I don’t necessarily adhere to the idea that it’s a “responsibility or role” of artists to speak out on politics. Art can “just” be art too. But to expect artisans to not be affected and allow that experience to be expressed in their work is unreasonable and unrealistic.
Additionally, I’ve seen our local politicos use ‘art’ and artists as pawns in their PR machines which makes me sick.
        Individual choice.
Which the current regime wants to do away with.

        • Nancy

Glennis~ Yes. In my rush of thoughts, I wrote in a narrow vision…choice, your role if you want it, not selling out or being used…”But to expect artisans to not be affected and allow that experience to be expressed in their work is unreasonable and unrealistic.” Your wording will have to stand in for my muddied thoughts at the moment. I stand corrected/reminded. Love to you.

  13. It gets harder and harder to imagine it will ever be possible to have the world that so many of us long for. I am not one to give up trying but I am so sad today…

  14. Marti

Well you can tell that I got quite stirred up with my comment!. The sentence should read, Hands Off Democracy not Hangs Off Democracy!

  15. Marti

For those who feel that “political discourse” has a particular place and time, I ask, where and when ? I also ask one simple question to those of us who have grandchildren: Is this the world we want to leave to them? A world where we stay silent, a word where we look the other way, a world where our minds and hears remain closed… I have sixteen year old twin grandchildren, a boy and a girl. We talk of many things, share opinions and speak our minds. They know that I am the child of immigrants, that their great grandparents came to America from Spain,, they understand how important America has been to us. America, a place of opportunity for all…So, I will not stay silent, look away and I will continue to speak my mind, display my Hangs Off Democracy sign, front and center and continue making my almost weekly calls to my congressional representatives and senators…I can do no less because I am a Citizen… Thanks Jude for keeping this vital conversation going….

No words for me either . . . How can one man overrule common sense . . . ? (is it always one man ?) A bad day, let’s stick to cloth and tread and think of all those people who have their lives suddenly destroyed

  17. Dawn

We must all do our very best to stop this insanity. It seems that the marches, letters emails to those in Leadership, globally go nowhere. None of the World’s population want this.. horrific cruel and completely needless, unnecessary death and destruction, all based on lies! We must all resist, resist in any way we can.

  18. sarita

    when will we unlearn hate
when will we learn that greed and hoarding are destructive pathologies
when will we learn to create and not destroy
    when will we know love

I’m appalled. Each and every day. We no longer have checks and balances. Or Justice. I understand people not wanting to hear about it. Like the jets that fly overhead in Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451…and no one acknowledges the war…Just “give me what pleases me” and wear intentional
blinders. I do remind myself of Life, real Life, as I tend my Gardens and small patch of Earth. How it grows. How it dies back. How it reseeds. A miracle every day of the year.
    Your artwork astounds me, Jude.

Here is an interesting take on it: https://ko-fi.com/post/Why-Were-At-War-With-Iran-Hint-Not-Nukes-H2H11GUYGP?ref=email_newpost
I’m a totally disgusted veteran. Two horrifying things in this post: bombing for political purposes (opinion), and beginning the process of forcing black men out of the service for razor bumps (actual fact). And the VA just instituted a policy that health care providers may refuse to treat a veteran based on marital status or political affiliation. Let’s hear it for putting lackeys in place all the way down! WTF indeed!! Jude, feel free to delete my comment. I don’t want to bring anger to your beautiful page, and I think we all need to be aware of what is going on.

  21. Inexplicable. Congress? Hello?

Because I’m in CA where TV is always on, caught press conference. As Sec of Def Hegseth is indistinguishable from his former colleagues at Fox. Our great president, etc. Also they went on and on about the secrecy, because we all remember signalchatgate. Though nothing came of that either.

Bunch of inflated bozos with way too much power for their own, or anyone else’s, good.
Your sketch and background cloth are so wonderfully breezy. Many thanks for sharing the fresh air.

Depressing every dam day that Trump is allowed to be in the White House! 😤
Your drawing and cloth piece is a beautiful Jude! Thank you for sharing and brightening my morning 💙✌🏼

Evil is truly having its day. We have a puppet in office who doesn’t see the strings holding him in place so thinks he is the puppet master. The lust for power and greed seems their only motivation and I don’t think they will ever stop until there’s nothing left to take. Sadly they know no shame.
