The sun came out.ย I tried to stack the rest of the wood on the porch. To dry out. So I can get rid of the ugly tarp and plant flowers there.ย Woodshed building is in the near future.ย ย I got tired and will stack what's left tomorrow.
I confess that I struggle with handstitching bias edges … probably need to just bite the bullet and make a lot of wonky triangles until I get the hang of them
I feel that, too โ so much to do though often I don’t even know how to do anything that would really even begin to address the layers of sadness, exhaustion, and broken-heartedness at the state of the world.
such joy in joining tiny bits together! the patchwork on the left feels like a kimono. the scalloped edge border in blue, reminiscent of water. stories emerging…
One thing touching another. That describes what I was thinking when I read your post. With wood heat, just when you think you’re finished, you start preparing for when you’ll need it again. Like your patchwork, new pieces and old pieces work together to make something usable.
Hi Jude
Those new friends look very busy ๐eating !!
The little pieces of stitching are sweet . I enjoy stitching small pieces .. just as long as I am stitching I happy โฆ๐a bit like you ๐ซถHave a lovely day

It’s all about managing tension, but what isn’t?๐
Love the little circle piece. Is the circle dyed into the fabric? If not, how do you get it so perfect?
Yes , dyed. With indigo.
Jude~ So much to discover, all in good time. (((hugs)))
Good time is the gift.
What flowers will do well there?
Wild flowers, got a sack of seed. The tarp got rid of overgrowth, good dark mud is waiting.
I like doing things in little bits; a little walking, a little sewing, a little painting, a little gardening, and a very little housework.
Agree! I try to accomplish one or two tasks in the morning so I can have the rest of the day free to quilt, stitch or read. Oh, the joy of retirement!
Somehow, I no longer feel retired, maybe it’s the state of the world, there seems so much “work” to do.
I feel that, too โ so much to do though often I don’t even know how to do anything that would really even begin to address the layers of sadness, exhaustion, and broken-heartedness at the state of the world.
We are all being dragged through hell by greed.
Amen!
What is housework? Homework seems softer and more appealing.
That will be a perfect place for flowers! It’s important to know when to stop.
I’m learning…

Yes, I always end up thinking it is all patchwork in perspective…
I love your new friends. Where do they hide in the winter?
They make nest in the hollows of trees.
Happy stitching ๐๐ป
me too, and Iโm watching the birds and squirrels eat the sunflower seeds I put in the feeders. ๐ป

I left them some sunflower seeds.
I enjoy joining the tiny scraps here, just to feel like I am building something.
Hello, Jude. ๐
