Garden ties, torn indigo dyed scrap. Sun faded. I'll do this again.
I'm starting small, Right outside the door. it's been dry and warm and a bit of clearing got done. I removed all the junk stored on the porch since I moved in. Hung the bird feeders, Cleared the little garden space near the entrance. Capability will shape how it goes.
It's raining today so just enjoying the sound of it, listening to the birds, smelling the earth. Mom's rocker is perfect. And green. The walnut brew was carried frozen in the moving truck. It was deep winter. But now it's potent and bubbly. I will start a new indigo vat. Maybe a big one.
The next project, though, is the door to the back screened porch. The door was sealed shut for the winter because of gaps and mice. I need a new door. Installed properly. Soul-o will be very excited to be out there. I think there is enough room for a work table.

Love the porch and the chair and I’m happy that you can hear and smell the rain. I’m sure all the different sounds of spring will be fun too. Lots of lichen, moss and leaves there for
ecoprinting too!
I see hostas starting, but what are the plants near the hostas? ,looks familiar but can’t place it.
Thanks for sharing Jude.
Bleeding hearts!!!
Yes! Beautiful ❤
Your porch is so homey and inviting😊 sound of rain is soothing and calming.
Garden ties, how fancy, even your plants get to wear a bit of your art.
It is good to be outside.
I love to get my hands earthy when gardening.
Beautiful sunny day here today and perfect for planting, starting small sounds familiar.
🌱
It’s a small porch but good enough. Right now a little rain gets in. Rain is ok .It is good to be outside.
The Sphinx! This is all very exciting!
It is. Pieces are coming together.
The peacefulness of your porch conveys itself…I imagine listening to this new silence and sounds must be lovely.
Medicine
I can’t help but think how interesting it would be to have a whole new place to explore. New plants to suddenly pop up, new woods to find your way through, new rooms with new places for your furniture (their different locations making them somehow look new rather than old and familiar. Having lived where we are for 40 years everything is so settled and static, nothing really unexpected. Finding your way in a new place must sort of make you feel new also.
Yes, this is an interesting way to see things. I suppose both situations hold precious moments, but I need to feel new as you have put it. I miss the safety of habit sometimes, but the new season has refreshed my curiosity.
I love the rocking chair. The work table sounds like a terrific idea.
There’s nothing like nature , good company.
Glad you were starting a new garden in your new home. The porch looks great.
Coming together slowly. 🐌
Your home makes me think of Girl Scout camp nearly 70 years ago. I can smell it from here – wonderful! Enjoy your paradise!
Believe it or not, I went to camping near here.
What a great porch!
A lovely place I imagine to take in the slow unfolding of the greening world. Enjoy! 🌳🌷
Yes, not slow enough…it’s over so quickly.
Love that porch! I have been longing for a covered size to sit outside when it rains. I can see your table already! We have a terrace, shaded by grape vines growing over tge pergola in the summer. It.s my favorite stitching place during the warm dry months. I love your place…and wish you and Solohappy exploring and settling in spring days!
It’s nice to be in a covered outside space, safe and free.
You’ve reminded me to go check the walnut vat! The tie is beautiful…
Such a sweet rich smell, an old walnut vat.
Such quiet beauty coming alive all around and within you! 💚
Soul-O will love having a screened porch again!
Yeah, he’s waiting…
Looks lovely and delightful.
😃
the luxury of 2 porches, surrounded by trees! how your Mom’s rocker sits so peacefully, in place. how all your belongings truly belong here. this round cottage, that was simply waiting for you… x
Like puzzle pieces.
Looks like home is taking shape. Spring will give you new energy!
Yes and yes!
Front porch sitting is the best, esp. surrounded by Woods…
Take time to enjoy this very special space!
A porch has always seemed so important
Lovely spot to sit and stitch 💙🕊️
Yay!
Looking forward to seeing how this go and grow. 🙂 The rain is welcome today, we’ve been really dry with fire warnings!
Yes, it was super dry.
It looks lovely, Jude. I can just imagine you out there in the summer. 🙂
Me too!
I think they are bleeding hearts after all in your front garden 🙂 Mine turned up their toes last summer in my grieving when i watered nothing but my memories. I’ll have to plant again this year.
Good growing to you. We should never stop that.
Yes, they are!
Spring renews us.
Jude~ Aw, this is great to see…a bit of movement after a long winter. It is POURING here! And it is especially loud as they had just removed all of the rain gutters and fascia boards, which are now laying under our window getting poured on! Oy.
The little bench against the railing intrigues me. I am imagining Bruno climbing on it 🙂
Nancy
Skylights here, very noisy!
That bench was kinda hidden when the quilt was hanging there.
Your little garden plot right alongside your steps looks so inviting — and manageable. Inviting something fragrant perhaps? A garden of delights and possibilities. It will tell you. And your porch and rocker, so welcoming. Thank you for sharing your corner of the world.
It’s a good start…💚
working on your porch is the best! glad you have room.
Love the porch with the green rocker!!! What a sweet little garden area next to your porch. You will create something delightful there! I am planting flowers in containers today in chilly windy southeast Nebraska.
It’s feeling more like 🏡
Yeah, I’ve been missing it .
Happy new moon Jude……………
Here we go again.❤️
Hello, Jude. 🧁🍀
