Through. Through is big isn't it?
Passage. I'm liking that word right now.
What if something new is moving through?
So I'm here today to say hello, to let you know how it's going, that I'm getting through ok.Β There are a few early spring patches in the shop and I'm putting together a little tutorial for making ThreadKeepers for the Forever Zone to kick off the beginning of April.Β Celebrate going, continuing, and getting through which is what we do.Β Keep the thread...

reading this, I started humming β¦ βIβm looking through youβ
so I looked it up β¦ itβs a song by the Beatles from 60 (!) years ago on the album Rubber Soul (which has other wonderful songs on it)
music can have such wonderful persistence, woven as it is into our memories
I have that on vinyl.
We’ve had snow here at the end of March…even beginning of April. Early spring is not an easy season. Thinking about how a passage is between two (or more) things.
love how the structural side of the magic cloth intersects with the wooden rafters of the porch. a light-filled continuation there… for me, the fading of cloth records the passage of time itself. the round cottage must’ve whispered to u that it’s always wanted a circular drive. you’re a good listener, jude…
Yes, I like how the structure is highlighted and how thinness is revealed. The building aspect becomes apparent. I’ll have more to say about fading.
I think the circular drive was there at one point, just so overgrown and layers of leaves. I found what looks like remnants of gravel.
The green is there waiting to come out and play again. Love that colorful ninepatch.
I wonder if the current political mess will spark more folksongs…..
There’s a lot of sparks to work with.
Jude~ Funny how when I hear ‘passage’ – I hear it as “Safe passage”, for those words are so often paired together. Isn’t it timely to consider safe passage, any passage?!
Love the 7 (9) patch – such a great story holder. π
Yes, so timely….
Love the patch in your hand!
Great color!
Feels vibrant, warm, joyous, hopeful.
Kinda springs forth!
A SEVEN patch for moving Through
I do like the number 7 π and Spring…but not tree sex….Ahchoooooooooo
Seven can be a lucky #!
We’ll see how the allergies go…π
We had a mild winter in Montana this year, but spring, is as usual, variable. It is something we joke about. It is also our wet period, Feb to June. I love this time of year, it is my favorite season and it buoys my mood. The deep cold is over and the uncomfortable heat is still months off. I am planning my garden and will be readying seedlings soon. I already see green and swelling buds in the perennials.
I like March here actually, it is in-between. Good practice. The snow has melted in the last hour.
Do you worry that the weather and the sun will damage your quilts?
I don’t think of it as damage, just change
Good morning Jude,
Received my 9 patch. WTF. Love it and your newest take on Through a nine patch. Might have to make a few of those myself to remind me that winter is temporary as any other season and life cycle. Sunny but cold here in NW Ohio. Be well, take your time moving through life is short enough without rushing it.
Hugs to you and Solo
I’m realizing through is all of it. Here and there just fabrications for reference…π
Passing Through π
We sang this one at camp a lot.
Oh, a favorite!
mine too!
β€οΈ
Jeez Louise. Slight injury, fire going out, more snow (even if just a dusting), Iβd wanna get through too!
I gasped a little at the thought of the cloth fading. I know it can be one cost of being useful and the denim will fade slowly, but still. It doesnβt bother you?
Oh it’s all ok. I’m a bit forgetful but I’m used to it. And the weather, it’s March. I’ve been overdoing the exercise a bit, I’ll pull back and be more sensible.
The fade doesn’t bother me much, it all becomes a bit ancient looking. And I learn more about the dyes.
one cost of being useful is fading. I like that! Like the Velveteen Rabbit π
Yes…like that.
When I first glanced at the nine patch, my eyes kept searching for those seams in the middle (which are not there, of course, since things are moving through). How funny that we have those assumptions about how things should be. Not a nine patch, but definitely a nine patch – it’s beautiful. Will think about moving through (and Spring, YES!!) – a theme for the day . . . thanks, Jude, and have a lovely day!
Yes, I see a nine patch anyway.
Blessings to you two.π₯°
π
Oh, I love the nine patch, with Spring moving through!!
A refresher…
Spring! ππͺ΄π³π±πͺΊπΈπͺ»π
It’s in there…
Hello, Jude. ππ°
