Good Morning.
The shift has me moving again. It was a rough few months. Being out and about and seeing the earth and melting snow has given me new energy. The truth is I really did not complete the moving in process. I moved close to the fire and slipped into a coma, like cats do. Less time keeping the fire going has given me more time to complete the unpacking. The undoing and the going forward. There is still much work to do until I'll be using the cabin, so I've decided to set up studio here in the house, get organized and make my materials accessible, even if it means moving them again, maybe in summer.
I went roaming yesterday, found some old remnants of a garden. Many small trees, new forest growth, will come down surrounding the house to give more light for gardening. Just a bit of maintenance to make up for years of neglect.
There is always work to be done.
I remember Dad telling me that you have to keep going to keep going. Even playing is a kind of work. Work is good. Work becomes play when you love it. Learn to love it.
Today I will finish mending my work/play pants.
I have a few small cloths and stitched patches. I might put a few in the Threadcrumbs Shop tomorrow. Probably late in the day. There is a Moon. I would like to get back to that schedule. I'll decide in the morning. Easier to get to the post office now that the ice has melted. And the Forever Zone... working on that as well. I can be back, even if slower.

For once in my life I planned my gardening/seed planting schedule in advance. One of my favorite annual gestures of defiance…
I need this season to get to know what to grow. I’m starting with clover and creeping thyme.
Love that “Bali head/mask”. Great that the earth pushes you to awake too 🙂 I know that feeling. Ohhh mending things is so satisfying !
Hope I can save these pants, they are really getting thin
They can be summer pants!
Ha, ❤️!
I think it was the late snow/cold snap but spring seems to be happening so fast here. Nothing wrong with napping by the fire..it’s a kind of healing. Mending too.
Here too.
It was good to hibernate…
It all sounds absolutely wonderful … sunshine definitely warms the heart and soul.
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy 🎶
What fun exploring and the joy of discovering after your long hibernation.
Hoping for good weather for the eclipse.
It’s looking clear!
It felt good to pick up a few sticks in the yard today. A springtime ritual.
Yeah, I was out all day, can’t move.
A hard winter makes me really appreciate and love what comes after.
So glad you got to hibernate…almost!…and now, emerging….
My work/play jeans are my favourites. I was never in anything else when I was at home as a child/teen.
Such joy in getting to make friends with your new land.
Cariad MAWR to you and Soul-O 💚💚
Starting to feel part of this time and place.
I bet it’s nice to explore and befriend the land. When I moved here 21 years ago, getting to know the land was the best medicine.
Yes, I walked up to the cabin today and then wandered off into the woods and over the ridge.
your pants are a nice reminder that “work” ‘n “play” are interchangeable. they flow in ‘n out of each other. how fun to discover remnants of the previous gardener’s thoughts. and that cabin! oooooooooooH!… spring has SPRUNG!
It has!!!
Always. I really love working. Keeps me going. So many things to choose from!
Glad to see things thawing out there.
The air is filled with the smell of earth!
Our snowdrops and daffodils are starting to bloom – maybe you will find some surprise ones on your walks! Happy Spring – ing !
I’m sure, so much to discover.
You are coming to life after a dark cold winter. Blooming where you are planted. ❤️
That was nice.
Oh so happy to see the unfurling!
Eeeeee!
Well, I’m going to follow along with your spring, since we seem to be skipping spring here in Central Texas. It’s supposed to be 90 degrees today. Sigh. So I ordered some WTF moons to go with my mood. 🙃
Wow, that’s a big number for March.
I’m in pretty much the same mood!
Hi Jude, I too have been glad to be outside working in my garden. It’s not work to me, it’s my passion. Is that a mask in the first picture??? How cool it is!!
I am glad you are setting up in the house, why think about the future, now is what’s important
I have to remind myself of that all the time. ugh
Curling up by the fire must have been wonderful. Perhaps you needed it??
Yes, a mask!
I think I did need it.
Now I am ready!
Jude, just what is that creature in the basket there!?
Your work/play pants are wonderful. The birdsong this morning is beautiful, leading me to wander the grounds and ultimately re-pot a Crown of Thorns plant, which has tiny red flowers now, reminding me to witness the Blood Moon!
It’s a ceremonial mask from Indonesia. I want to hang it outside the front door
Yay, time to come out of hibernation. Oh the promised of Spring.
Yes, stretching…
Hi , i admire your steps. I have felted the same now after three months no sonshine the is back. And i have more energy to do my small work.
I believe that doing things is good, you can feel you are alive.
It is good for our brains.
My mom had in het last years of her live demention. And at last she didnt do anything. D
The progress was much faster. It helps to do things.
I like your work and your mending.
Yes, going or not going are the choices. You never know where going will take you. Not going is pretty clear.
so true what your dad said especially as we get older!!!
we are seeing some spring here in the midwest with lots of croci popping up (their yellow, purple and white against the brown grass and leaves) and the daffodil and tulip leaves are showing up.
It’s such good medicine, season.
Slower is fine by me 💙
In the warmer days of spring you should wander through your woods and look for Morel mushrooms!
I need some of your energy 😁 💪
I need to learn more about mushrooms!
Well, this post has put a little “spring” in my step! 😄 I’m cleaning, sorting and clearing, slowly, room by room. Once I got started it’s actually pleasurable. The spring energy helps. Wintering is wonderful as is emerging from it.
Peace and ease!
Yeah, a little spring cleaning of my mind too.
Hello, Jude. 🍀🍨
