It's really a lot like the North Pole. Or how I imagine it since I've really never been there.
But now it is raining. I'm going to try to get the neighboring farmer to plow the mush before it freezes solid. Otherwise I won't be going anywhere for quite a while.
So I slowly continue on this little cloth, I'm practicing, using it as a study for how I might continue in the Forever Zone, which today, I have renamed in my mind, The Forever Home. I would want to detail each step as the thoughts come to me. To let them expand into the moment. I am trying to get into the habit of spending more time in the in between. Slower Cloth maybe? I just feel that each moment is an opportunity to choose so many paths. And although I may move in one direction, you might use that moment as a spark too and build another fire and end up in a completely different place. You know what I mean?
This is where I am this morning.
I took a step back. removed that bottom scrap. I'll rummage through the scrap basket. Soon I hope to include rummaging in my story.
We are warmed. By the fire, and by the company of travelling companions.
And the bigger story warns us it's gonna be quite a journey. Light a fire.
A few days away now.

I love the white dots around your moon face and the cat-shaped blank space at the bottom. It sort of suggests rainbow as portal. I’m glad, but not surprised to see you making the most of what you have to bend your house around you and keep yourself more comfortable. Serious winter there in New York.
Portal so needed.
Really serous winter. 60 mph winds here today.
My granddaughter learned to paint rainbows at the ripe old age of 3. We painted many rainbows. However, her favorite color is pink so eventually ALL of her rainbows have to have pink in them as well!! I love how kids just do it however they want.
Yes, and new form evolves!
I see the shadow cat in your stitching,
I have a sense of settledness in knowing I’m in my forever house with my forever car. Whatever breaks can be fixed.
Settling is happening.
“Rainbow connection…” 🙂
🌈
” each moment is an opportunity to choose so many paths…” YESSSSS!!!
jude, you provide soooooo many “jumping off points” for potential deep dives. having recently moved into a forest cottage, with the nearest town of 100 “neighbors” (or as one local said, “102, now that you’re here”), i agree wholeheartedly with marjee. ever grateful for the warmth of your creative fire… x
It’s mind boggling when you think about it!
When I look at this I immediately see the back of Solo’s head looking out the window at the moon!
This is my year of “completion” – finishing all the projects I have set aside for so many years – a quilt dedicated to my father, an embroidered blanket – and I find that watching how you work has freed me to explore different ways of finishing these things. This has been a hard winter, but having you to follow has made it much more bearable. Thank you!
Well thanks for saying that. I too have a lot of unfinished. I feel lucky actually, a soothing path forward. I like what you saw here.
Thanks, Jude. ♥️🧁🍀
👋
I so know and understand what you mean by seeing each moment as a new opportunity when I move in one direction and that spark comes and makes me build another fire as you said. I do this all the time it is my “way” of being and doing. Sometimes I even wonder if I gone mad, or if I ever will finish anything before starting something else. But I learned to flow with it, it is part of me and it is beautiful.
I learned, somewhere along the way, it’s all one thing.
Necessity is the mother of invention!
Hope you can get that slush berm plowed down!
Is it Spring yet???
Yeah, right
I live in small town Montana, and I wouldn’t ever trade the consequences of our weather and conditions for the conveniences of a city. I am not suited to city life.
I feel the same after moving here.
These are very kind and wise eyes Jude. I like that you added to the Rainbow Door (and removed that bottom piece). Today that rainbow view reminds me of the story of an old co-worker about a cartoon she grew up with in Japan, where the main character has an “Anywhere Door” on his belt. He could say some certain phrase about where he wanted to go and woosh…off he went.
I could use an anywhere door 🙂
Take care
Well that’s perfect!
haha I had to go look for this again (of course). I’m sure she watched the earlier versions as she’s about 10+ years younger than me.

I’d forgotten the door was pink. heehee
Ha. I asked Bruno what color curtains he wanted me to make and he said pink.
Okay then!
beautiful. thanks for this, and for being you.
Me is my only way.
Oh, wow! Cold!!! I love your approach to all of it, Jude. Looking forward to The Forever Home and rummaging, yes! I spend lots of time doing that, too. It’s very calming & inspiring for me. Enjoy your time away, and thanks so much for sharing with us!
Will realign and keep going
Love the face on your new stitched piece!
Stay in by your fire and keep stitching 💙✌🏼☃️
Not much choice right now. I’ve got wood stacked in every nook and cranny
“It’s free and it’s working” is about as good an appraisal as one can get! I suspect though with some hunting around either in person or online you could eventually find some very cheap antique windows to repurpose.
Most likey. If I bother. Awful big wind predicted soon, might lose the battle.🙄
Love that white stitching part way around the Moon…so defining. Several phases. Keep warm!
P. S. I had to smile at your plastic window. When my husband and I were first married, our little 60s lakehouse had practically no insulation, and crappy windows. During a Winter’s cold spell, we covered the windows in our bedroom in plastic sheets, donned winter caps, and hunkered down in the warmth of our waterbed (remember those?). Ha!
PPS. Just read your reflection on Needle Chanting. I am gobsmacked.
So much old stuff, trying to get back to reconsidering it
Oh yeah!
Lighting the way
Words fail me, these times. So I simply want to say thank you, Jude, for your inspiration and company on this long, and yet fleeting journey.
Here we are, going …👋
The shifting fates are never set in stone, eh? Enjoy the radiant fire, you two! Toast them toes and needle chant the moment into your story!
Much love and Namasté,
Joe
love the phrase needle chant Jo. very nice.
ha!, it’s in the glossary! Joe and I go way back…

Journey of a lifetime indeed.
Ready?
Yeah, my life and vocabulary is gloriously coloured with a myriad of lovely Judisms! I’ve been quietly travelling long her whispering paths for some decades now!
And here we are!
We’re gonna have a lot of stories to tell…
