Back to it…

To state my purpose...

Story. To tell it like it isJust that. And I need all the real stories I can get.  To build a truth.  And everybody has a story. I think reminding myself of that often helps me stay kind.

Share. To light a fire. To keep a fire burning.

What if?  To consider rather than believe. That is to remain open. Note to self.  Don't be a follower.  It keeps you from thinking for yourself.  I am reading Art as Experience. (John Dewey)  Considering the concept once again. Allowing old thoughts to re-form. Form is evidence of change.

Live. Here I am , sporting a WTF face with morning hair. I  could  work  with  this  face.

Personally, I cannot find any more words. WTF. And what  happened to my eyebrows?

I am revving myself up to be more active creatively.  Yesterday I was really sick with some stomach bug.  Today, a bit better but still feeling sluggish.  I am carving out some time and space for the Forever Zone.  Most of my talking will be there once I gather myself/selves...  because it's a protected place and I really want to get into IT. Really slow down.

The town plow just went by. Twice. I will be headed out to access the blockage on the road in. I really need spring this year.

My daughter is a dirty blonde and has been dying her eyebrows for years. Initially it was to save time in the morning before high school, so she didn’t have to pencil them in. Anyway, since I have gone gray, my eyebrows have disappeared, so she taught me how to do mine. “Just for men beard” medium brown, works great and one box can be used several times. Hope your stomach feels better soon, it’s going around where I live.

Eyesight becoming more ‘blurry’ helps with fading eyebrows and fluffy grey hair!!!!! BUT … needle threading becomes a very serious business!!!!
Jude. I am also now living alone (2years a widow). Nobody notices me or my hair or eyebrows – and no one to share with. Chores or suppers.
My best friend bought me four of your gorgeous little pieces of work for Christmas. Made me very happy. Sending love. X

      Hey.
I’m not much concerned with my appearance but not being able to thread a needle might be a problem!!!
Being alone here in the woods has made me relax about a lot of things.
I do feel sad about not sharing stuff with a partner. It’s been an adjustment.
      Sending love back!

    Hi Jude
I’ve followed your blog for so many moons now, but rarely comment…bit shy really…(I did contribute & did a beastie course with you years ago …🤔…menopause brain fog😬)but your honesty, creativity is always inspiring….& I love your creative musings….echoes of how my brain works…I sooo speak your language.
The cut out hugging you looks like it’s stepping through a doorway….into softness, peace and kindness…much love from over the sea 💕

Hey Melanie, shy I know well. Blogging helped me out of that a bit, still, in real life, not.
      Thank you for chiming in.
I like the visual story you have created here with your words.

Grey hair at the roots.. white chin hairs.. balding … I certainly relate!
The more I stay in the house.. the more angry I grow on the inside.
Have started avoiding the news .. try to ignore the current White House Occupant. Watching the grocery prices rise daily.. gas also.
No ..Hail to the Chief Here. Just prayers for the rest of us!
Jude.. I feel your need for Spring!

  5. I received my first senior discount last week…didn’t notice until I looked at the bill. 🙂 Telling stories, sharing… I think this is something to hold to.

Your comment about the space in-between. I guess when a person is contemplating or planning a big change that space between now and the future is whether anything will fill that space, some sort of continuation of what is or is that the end of the “now” that exists. That uncertainty can be really scary and probably inhibits a lot of changes that might otherwise happen.

  7. Hear, here, and there…
If one heard all my thoughts as I create something-yikes!
So many bits and snips of memory, conversations, and experiences. That book is a good one.
It keeps me giving workshops in person because I believe in delivering an experience of creativity through them and each time a new experience.

Gosh I wish I lived near love the stuff you did/do on the computer but live👏🏻👍Is there a complete alphabet with your words and thoughts for each letter? I want to read the whole thing and maybe copy for muse

  8. Hello. Ha, I like that as the end of that mini recording. My hair seems always to be morning hair these days. I put it in a bun, then forget it for days. It’s in and out of hats, so maybe it’s actually hat head. Every so often I remember to take the elastic out and comb through it with my hands.

I need to get back into the studio. I think it would be good medicine for me, but all I seem to do these days is bring in wood, chop kindling, and keep the fire going. And freak out about what’s going on in the country.
Also, the studio path is kinda dangerously icy. But maybe with cleats, it will be ok.

(((Jude))) Shine On! Sometimes I feel so kind of useless and irrelevant stitching dreams into pillows as the world gets weirder and weirder by the day… or appears to… and your soft image reminds me that those rich pricks who think they can take over the universe are just paper tigers irrelevant dinosaurs , I still dream of a world where love is the answer….

I can relate to the wtf face and morning hair! My hair has always had a mind of its own. And my eyebrows are somehow simultaneously thinning and becoming my father’s bushy Einstein eyebrows. Every morning in the mirror is an adventure!

thinking about transparency, see-thru-ness, as a way to create a softer border. both in what we make in the physical realm and relationships in that unseen realm. parallel worlds. one reality. liminality. btw, love your eyebrows…

  12. Victoria W

Oh eyebrows! Lately I have been considering them. It’s a double whammy when not only are your eyebrows thinning but also going grey. I’ve had a lot of grey hair since my 30’s but the eyebrows are going grey now. Interesting how touching up those brows at least a bit makes one look much more authoritative.

I don’t look in the mirror much anymore, now that I live alone. I really hadn’t notice how old I got! And I never played much with eyebrows in my face images, hmmmm.

Hello, Jude. Love these thoughts, especially regarding what lies behind the creation of something. Oftentimes after I create and stitch and embroider one of my poppets, I try to record what is behind the making. Not just the steps, but the thoughts.
Btw, women’s eyebrows almost disappear as we age. Think on that one!

  14. Jen

Love that you share your thoughts.
Love that reaching across the void.
    Glad you’re on the mend!
    Whew!
( I think we all could use some Spring –renewal.rebirth.hope–!!
    💚
