Good Morning

I cut myself out of my imaginings and pasted myself into the day.

I'm looking.

I'd like to work a bit with this image.

You’ve warmed my heart, again with your teachings on how to look deeper in what is seen to discover what is not seen. Thanks. I hope your toe is better.

thinking about how this paper cut-out takes us right back into our childhood. i remember the joy of drawing people on paper ‘n cutting out paper outfits for them. placing it on the window with different backdrops is great theatre. could be fun for bruno! x

Thank you Jude. Such a simple bit of kindness.
Goes such a long way(in and out)😘 I sent one to one very dear to me having a very tough time after reading this.

I would love to send a copy of your self hug picture a dear friend whose life is miserable right now. Bur I need your permission. Maybe we all need hug cards to remind ourselves where our power comes from and that people care. I would be glad to send you some money for that privilege—new address? my e-mail is taichi@rockisland.com. Blessings from a caring universe and textile friends like you. Janet

This might sound silly but when I start feeling anxious about all that’s going on, I put a hand on my chest, close my eyes, exhale deeply a few times and tell myself that it’ll all be okay. It helps.

Danielle Dulsky in The Holy Wild, “To be human is to be tasked to create. We are born with the capacity to feel deeply for a reason, with the instinct to make something new out of the old and birth some great majesty from the union between body and imagination.”

I think that by “pasting yourself in” you give yourself time to consider how to react in the situation that presents itself. Instead of immediately jumping into an emotion you stop and think about the reality of the moment and then decide what your most effective reaction would be.

  8. my mom’s cousin Glad (short for Gladys) used to point out how the man in the moon also contained a woman’s profile … it never really stuck with me, but this image recalled the notion

yes, every time I draw the face in the moon lately, that other crescent face appears. I’ve been doing some drawings, I will share them soon.

    Good morning,
I too would like a new way of seeing myself in this cold day. May I borrow your drawing and make it me, on a center quilt block for my comfort through I making? I love the idea of a se!f hug, being the center of my comfort quilt. Have a blessed week.

I have been out of sorts recently and your words moved me this morning. I am going to work on some “imagining and paste myself into the day”. All the best for your day!

Seeing that little image of self up against the glass into the day, has done something to my brain. I’m going to have fun playing with this. It’s something about getting to choose where I place myself. Wishing you a happy, satisfying winter’s day of play!
