There was some rearranging.
Design Mending if you will... it's just me and soul-0... makes decision making easier.
We'll be staying close to the fire this week. Maybe a few days more than that. There are ways to deal with most things, even a cold breeze blowing through the wall by the desk.
I find it more and more interesting that I am becoming more and more fine with the new challenges. I just love that I had to wrap cloth around the toilet seat so I don't freeze my ass off. And that it works just fine and I didn't order a heated toilet seat instead.
No cold fingers near the fire. Stitching happened.
OK. Nine for Fitting Together. Nine for it's OK. So far. A little talking in the Forever Zone today, Yay! Gotta start somewhere,

Greetings Jude,
Been lurking in the back story of your stitching. Your work has been mentioned in several YouTube stitchers videos I follow. So pleased that I found you. This is my 77th year around the sun. Your moving into a place in the woods brings back so many memories from my life. When I was 13 my family ( mom, dad and 5 younger sisters) moved into my mothers great aunts home. The Lowell homestead. It too was in the middle of woods, our nearest neighbors were a mile in
either direction. There was no inside plumbing. There was no central heating.
Coming from being a town girl, with all the convenience of town life. I felt like we were camping and would be back to real life in a week. We lived there until I was 19. We had a wood cook stove in the kitchen another wood stove in the living room. We hand pumped water into a pail to fill the reservoir on the cook stove for heating water. Well, I could go on and on about cutting wood to feed the stoves that cooked our food, kept us warm but your living this life now and I would love to be able to get back to being able to enjoy that part of my lifetime again. Blessings to you and So low. Your new friend, Pat
Thank you so much for stopping by to share your story. This lifestyle is new to me. But I really love it, even though I initially missed a few familiar comforts when I first got here. I laugh, most of the people I know are moving to condos in Florida, eek, no thank you. I hope that the fact that I am more active will help me keep moving. I love being closer to nature and far from crowds.
your new home looks so cosy and as if you’ve been there a while! fits you like a glove….and I recognise how one can rearrange self to circumstances ‘just like that’, by deciding to accept and embrace rather than mope and be misersble, haha, life is just so much more enjoyable….for everyone, love
Yes, this is a good exercise at my age, not to be set in my ways …
OMG! I just love the space you’re sitting in. It looks so comfortable and snuggly. A big hug it gives. I would be stuck in that big chair for hours sewing my self to oblivion. Love it love it love it!! Sooooooo special!🔥
I would be too if I didn’t have so much wood stacking to do. 😂
It looks so, so cosy. I love your new home 🏡 ❤️
Stay warm. 😊
Thanks, it’s lovely, just need to adjust to a few changes.
the freedom to make decisions by yourself is delicious. (As long as SoulO agrees)
Yeah, he keeps me in line…
to create a space that is yours and yours alone … to shift within that space as the seasons come and go … such luxury, though I don’t envy you the cold … and you must know I love your draft-dodging next to the desk
It’s 9k, it’s part of the place for now, and a good reminder of season. I do love draping the place in cloth, it is becoming tent like. I am thinking the next large cloth might take shape with window holes.
Love that;
design mending and your place looks cozy.
Warmth sending to you and Soul-o
We slowly shape and reshape till it works, right?
Jude…you said ass…🤣🤣🤣🤣 LOVE that cloth works 💪
Loving seeing your ‘self’ growing, too.
A happy-making post ♥️🔥❄️
I did!
8 love how useful cloth is…
So spirit-filled! And I see that I am in good company with indoor-“wind”-chimes hanging. Bamboo or? (And will be sharing the cloth-wrapped toilet seat 💡 spark of genius) 🧵🪡🥰
Bamboo from Indonesia, some outside too, but these will be near open windows in spring. They will sing.
Keep yourself cozy with that lovely fire, the deep cold will pass, and the final outcome will be sooo worth the temporary inconvenience you are going through now. it looks like a wonderful place to be.
Yes, I’m comfortable with season, how it shapes our days. Just being there.
Perfectionism🍀
Or maybe imperfectionism.
Ummm I think I’m in love with your stitching. Not to mention the beautiful lodge. Kitty looks happy too (mine passed a while ago). I found your work on Pinterest which led me to your blog and youtube vids. I love the design elements of your work; makes me think of collage and i think you even mentioned collage in reference to your work in one of your youtube vids. In any case, have a blessed evening.
Yes, paper was my love for a long time. Paper and cloth have inspired eachother for years.
I love that your cloths and weavings are serving the same purpose as tapestries in cold castles. Soul-O looks well settled on his throne.
Yeah, it feels right.
Is there stitching on the toilet seat wrapping?
Ha, not yet, but I think I’m on to something…
Your new house looks huge! Is there lots of room to hang all your cloths (besides by the toilet? 😄)
It’s not that big really but the open plan give a spacious feeling. There isn’t that much open wall space, but I am working on new ways to place things.
I just love the snuggly feel of your new place. So cozy!
All the wood makes it like an indoor forest.
Jude~ What a wonderful start to the year. I love your home so much and I agree – it says Jude! all over it! That first pic…it was like looking for old and then new friends…the two conversationalists…the masks, a spot for you and Soul-o together, GROW. Then I spy the great, useful sewing lamp and the hanging lights…but when I enlarge it for a closer look, my breath and my eyes well up to see the oversized Medicine Pouch hanging on the post. I’m so touched. Love seeing you living so deep in cloth. The toilet seat had me cracking up.
Funny how the lighting changed the bottom blue square from here to the Zone. Over there I saw a wolf pup with a pompadour facing right howling. Here I see a man’s face, glancing right and wearing a well-worn straw cowboy hat – Festus style 🙂 Enjoy this sacred time. ❤️
Oh you saw the pouch! I was hoping it would catch your eye! I am just getting to hanging all my beautiful gifts and family treasures… love all the posts and beams for that. ❤️
Necessity is indeed a mother…but wow! What a cool place!
It is a great structure.
I never feel more competently alive than when I am making do! Love your space, Jude, and as others have shared, it suits you! Happy New Year!
I agree!
Gorgeous room! And I laughed about the toilet seat. My bath is an addition to the house and always cold from the skylight and from the crawl space. I just had a friend today tell me of heated toilet seats. I had no idea!
Yeah, but the cloth works!
This house feels so suited to you. I do hope you will figure out how to make it warm and cozy, little by little.
Did half the caulking but it’s too cold to finish right now.
Love how your space is covered in your cloth! Toilet seat is a new one! 😁
Stay warm up there 🔥
💙🕊️
There is plenty of cloth here to work with. Funny what you might do when no one is looking. Ha!
👍🏻😁
Oh Jude, this is such a warm and cozy spot. I love the large windows and the views and your stitching work. Just lovely. Stay warm.
Cold and cozy but getting there!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my……..
Ha, 👋
One of my favorite sayings: Necessity is the Mother of Invention. 😉
Wow … lots of “wonderfulness” on view here and ingenuity. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy (as the cat demonstrates!).
Making do!
