Today I am unpacking the last of the "studio" boxes. Hopefully I will find my computer power cord. My video editing software is on the main computer. I think this will be a wooly winter. It just started after all...

So pretty up there in your new spot in woods!
☕️I would be drinking coffee and gazing out the windows…🪡🧵

Blessings for these winter days that are passing so quickly… rest and stitch, take care of the home and time with Solo… and enjoy the wool… I seem to be hooked these days.
Unpacking can be more exciting than opening presents! Warm memories spill out and you get to say Oh I Love that I have this!!
I miss the beauty snow brings.. and cold inside or out allows cozy sweaters and layers!
If you’d consider a gas stove, I highly recommend a Jøtel. They are entirely sealed, and no hauling in of wood needed. Ours heats 2,000 sf and changed our lives.
Fossil fuel has become a real issue here in NY state. Hard to have any new gas stuff installed, there is a ban pending.
I will go for a heat pump, ductless mini split system. I will work nicely with a larger woodstove. I would love to do some solar but that is out of my budget.
Oh, I had no idea. Well, you’ll stay busy and fit with wood, and it is beautiful. I wish you cozy days as you settle in. Each home is unique. That is for sure.
We had that here last year…Oh that’s cold! I had a gift certificate and went to the yarn store, more wool! Ready to start my next sweater but need to finish the one I am working on right now. 🙂
Wow. Minus temps. That – is – cold!!! I’d be buying silk long-johns on sale in the spring for next year. 🙂 The icicles are magical – somehow they have their own unique spell of magic among all the winter elements. Thanks so much for sharing photos of such a wonderful, bountiful place! (and I’ll add 1 vote for bigger stove for next year).
must be just fine to nestle away in your hobbit home… with a warm fire, hot tea ‘n soul-o at your side. no need to venture outside. just exploring your treasure boxes, some like precious gifts from long ago… that wooly beast! sigh…
Beautiful photos and aspects to look into. The dragons sharing their stories and the windows with icicles and trees are superb. I’m enjoying this magical, though cold, scene. Very special. Thank you
I love that you seem surrounded by trees. And the light pouring through your windows. I’ve wondered though if it makes your home chilly? Being warm seems to be more important to me than it used to be. You do look snug.
Jude~ Gosh that first pic!! The scope of the windows, the icicles…the ‘sin’ being out…what a lot of excitement!! What hangs between the two trees? Hammock bunk beds? Boy, the stories will be flowing like mad in this magical place. I look forward to seeing it in all of its glory, in all of the seasons. Such beauty 💕
Would love to know where you are now living. Where is it so cold?
Love all of your windows and the views that they show.
Am sure once you can wander outside, you will find something new every day.
Enjoy your winter wonderland.
Delhi brings back memories! Explored it many times…my husband and I lived in Shandaken in Ulster County. Loved the mountains and the silence…enjoy this new chapter!
I laughed when you mentioned moving the chair closer to the fireplace. My knees would already have been singed trying to get warm. But it does look like a lovely setting. I’m glad you are surrounded by trees. They are important to our well-being.
Snow makes i all bright and peaceful.
Cant wait to see a bit more of your weaving. The little creature looks great already!
Wool working here too 🙂
Stay cozy
Good morning! So much snow! Beautiful landscape!
I can imagine you’re thinking about wool.
I hope you’ll find your computer power cord. Some how things are always in the last box.
I really love wool too! I think my wool stash is bigger than my quilting stash of cottons. -6 is very cold! You said you were moving farther north. Is it the North Pole? Lol
Each window is a picture on it’s own- delightful.
I love your new house…and hope you find the cord you are missing… It’s always where you least expect it to be…laughing… as that is my experience.
Yeah, it’s funny how people say “oh, sunset is getting later, the worst is over.” Winter hasn’t even hit yet! It’s only December.
Wishing you and Soul-o much holiday warmth, Jude. Your posts make me feel cozy, relatively and absolutely.

Season’s best is liking what you got.
and I do adore our wood heating… great stove drives the heat into our bones. ahhh.
I do love wood heat too.

seems at one point the cold gets into your bones no matter how much heat there is.
Maybe I can weave a sweater.
Hope you found your cord! A bit warmer today, definitely woolies for the win!
nope. the mystery continues. warmer but snow overnight.

It’s ok , I might get a larger woodstove for next year.
Such a beautiful place. With all that cold I would have a hard time getting out of bed. I can hardly wait to see what it looks like in spring.
Yeah, me too.

Magic, Magic, Magic!

Light!
Glad you are settling in and that the sun is shining through your beautiful windows. The fire and cup of tea look nice and cozy.
Sun is so nice in winter.

I think they are hammocks, this place was an airb&b for a while before it went up for sale.
It’s so beautiful that you don’t feel the cold.🍀

Living upstate New York, Delhi, a rather mean cold spell…

Yes lots of soup! Those icicles are something !! Watch for falling daggers in the days of thaw. 😳
Yeah…

Yeah, it’s become fun looking, also finding things I forgot about.
I really love wool too! I think my wool stash is bigger than my quilting stash of cottons. -6 is very cold! You said you were moving farther north. Is it the North Pole? Lol
Feels like it!
I have more wool than I remember…

Absolutely, I’ll be laughing I’m sure!

Right?
Let’s get real, we got a long way to go…
Settle in, hunker down, drink tea, and work with woole!
and make soup!
Yes! And that, too!
