I

Idea.

I suppose I could begin with Idea.

I have a lot of them.  I (we) cannot help it really.

holding nothing

Even nothing is an idea.

Here, holding nothing began to have a heaviness.  This morning, the polka dots helped.  What I like about watercolor is it is slow. I can work in quiet layers.  I can play with one image for ages. Sometimes it is even a way to build the courage to look at an idea head on.  Like Dream Catching.

Sometimes ideas seem silly, until you sit with them a little longer.  Imagine and then witness the connection between one moment and the next.

I am  very interested now, again, in the continuing connection between my cloth ideas and my paper ideas.

warm enough

It was 48 degrees here this morning.  I managed to built a small fire last night before bed.  I had a few dry twigs and small stuff inside. It kept the house warm ish.   It rained all night,  I need to bring some wood in to dry out because the cool nights will continue for a few more days. Looks like some warmer winds will blow in mid week.

Your weather sounds lovely. It cooled off to 99 here today (insert hysterical giggling). Fall here is a long way off I think.
Imagination creates Ideas; they come and go rapidly, some stay, some work well, some don’t. Creative experimentation.

Ink and Incantations. The slime on my walnut pot is Iridescent. I have an Idea that it will never rain again. At least the cool weather makes everything less Itchy.
Your beast here, will she be holding the moon soon? Funny how an Idea, which literally weights nothing, can be so heavy it can stop progress as easily as it can Instigate It.

  3. I considered a fire, but had closed up the house well in the afternoon, so it stayed relatively warm, but oh the joys and smells and warmth (not just temperature) of the first fire of the season.

I’m interested in the connections and intersections of your paper and cloth work as well. Lovely watercolor 🙂

  4. I am imagining the crackle of the fire, the smell. Today is the last hot day in the forecast for us and then chance of rain and cooler. I am looking forward to that.

Sometimes, well often, I get overwhelmed by ideas. Going to back up and visit that word today, “overwhelmed.” 🙂

Your painting reminds me of my granddaughter Maggie 💗 She turns 8 tomorrow… The years fly by fast!
I’d like some of that colder weather soon.
