Good Morning.
Everyday could be a G day I guess. Thank you for more G words. Made me want to stay with G for a while.
I'm mowing, cleaning up a bit. I will probably have to get some help. It was a jungle summer. Trying to make the place seem more "normal". Ha! It' still Green but dulled down a bit. There is a kind of Ghosting going on, as one season overlaps another.
Grounding fits a bit to the walnut dyepo(e)t situation, and dipping scraps has given me a nice earthy pile to use while thinking about that.
I dropped this little loose stitch block into the shop last night. I liked how this one came together a little differently. It started out as a log cabin but I didn't continue all around. I just liked how it had a warm sense of holding anyway, even in its ragged unfinished form.
I like working with browns all of a sudden.
Maybe the outside time has influenced my palette. But I think using the walnut dye has more to do with it.
How the scraps might become brown, and then jus brown ish. Duller. Or In between.

those bright tips make it come alive
Zing!
I love the color brown and so seldom see it in clothing. To me it is very solid, centered, stable. It’s not a flash in the pan but is very comforting to have as a fixed base to rest on.
true, never thought about that, maybe not the clothing we buy, but maybe the clothing we dye or make.
Thank you Jude, It was gentle in the end, after getting to grips with a ramshackle, half sorted living room.
I am a dreamer – my mum used to say that I was ‘ In a brown study.’ I haven’t remembered that for many years.
funny how the alphabet brings words that grabs story form deep inside.
The Grow cloth is gorgeous with a September glow. It has me imagining how cozy and warm a seed might be in the earth. .
I will love this as a blanket.
Grow is so organic, feels like fall. I want to wrap myself in it. I like the little window in the log cabin .
Still summer here, 100 today so I guess I’m G for Grumpy.
Yes, Grow came together so easily… I’m think about that.
I was very grumpy until it cooled down.
Looking out the screened in porch in Eastern Canada thankful to catch sight of the occasional hummingbird stopping by for a sip or two on it’s way to a warmer climate for the season. It’s a chilly but sunny fall day so I’m bundled, 2 dogs warming my feet. I like G for grounding. Brown isn’t a favourite colour of mine, but your work makes me appreciate it! Thanks Jude.
Brown is like a base somehow. Ground. Yes.
The browns
So deeply deeply satisfying
Agree…ahhhh
It takes magic to make an earthy star shine like that. …it’s wonderful how you can do that.
The G’s feel good:)
Gentle days….yes…to us all. Much needed.
It was tricky, the snowy tips helped!
I’m good with G. And the walnut browns.
G is for you!
I do enjoy the earthy brown tones.. would love to see what color comes after you might try adding the pomegranate peels as you mentioned in your comment to Nancy D.
I visited Grand Teton National Park yesterday, today is a recovery just Going day. Tomorrow more of Yellowstone.
I am enjoying your alphabet series!
Earth yellow I always call it.
Recovery just going sounds Grand!
Gentle days to you too Jude 💙🕊️
I love your walnut dyed cloth pieces🤎
I wish there were walnut trees around here… my grandmother had a big walnut tree back in Indiana, and I can remember gathering them with her! She used them in her homemade fudge.
I love the smell of the depot. Folks are always happy for me to collect the from their property…
So beautiful in all she does with a glorious blend of warm tones.
It is interesting, how, as it cools, the colors turn warm.
And the very dark stitch at each star point base creates the illusion of a dimensional window and that’s Great!!!
It was an interesting exercise in color…
Grounding to the Good Earth…🤎🤎🤎
Good it is.
The star here reminds me of candy corn and Indian corn and also being a child in the 70s with all the browns and patchwork everywhere. Comforting. I played with my new walnut pot this weekend, along with sumac and iron baths. Got a few interesting scraps now, and dirty looking fingernails.
Yeah, it is a bit October!
Love the browns here. This one so rich, like Good compost. And I especially like the thick black frame around the center. Very comforting, grounding indeed.
High 60°’s here. Nice and cool start to another hot day.
Good Earth. I do often think of the scrap basket as compost
Oh, I love the warmth of brown…makes me think of fall leaves, nuts, and new brown school shoes. Beautiful piece, Jude. It will stay gentle on my mind today, as a gentle rain is expected to linger all day!
I might add a few pomegranate rinds to the brew. I love the golden ochre.
Gentle day to you, Jude 🤎
👋
i love it when the greens begin to fade, when cool becomes more frequent, and the greater than humans know: time to build your stash. there is unsettling and edginess, but that’s how it always is. there is less color in the trees this late summer, early fall, but it will catch up. 45 degrees here this morning. i wonder how the indigo is. sending a hug. it’s still green-ish.
55 here, cool enough. Great!
I’ll get some indigo seeds I think, maybe I will cut some and root in water. Let them grow a bit inside.
Feeling and seeing the same things. Wishing everyone a gentle day.
I love the autumnal earthtones in your Earth energy cabin .
They are linked to some inner comfort.
Some letters are hard to leave, they are little gifts…the words. I think there is going to be a 3rd day of M words.
Gifts!
