How it goes

Not the best photo, it lost resolution when I transferred it from my phone.  But I like it.

It kind of vibrates, as if it is in between.  And now yes, the acorns are falling.  From the big tree that has to be cut down.  I feel sad.

I was thinking about transition. And the inner spin that keeps us from falling apart during change.

Inner Spin

I was going to put this one, Nine for Transitioning, in the shop.   But I think it has more to say. I might work around it.

Patch for now

Soul-o has many names, like everything else in my life.  Soul-o.  Chicken.  Bugs.  PPP.  And now...Patch.

Power was out most of the night.  Way too much rain.  I expect the same for today.  My audio recorder broke, so here I am writing. For now.

Hi, I am just wondering if your oak tree could be reduced in size with any big branches removed so that it no longer endangers your house but can continue to live for many more years? Old trees are so valuable!

I considered that but after careful inspection, the base is badly compromised by ants and critters and it really must come down. There are many many old and healthy oaks here, much bigger and happy. I know, such a hard decision to make.

Hang in there Soul-O — the fur will grow back. ((hugs💜))
To hold an acord and imagine the tree within. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

  3. Just starting raining here, AGAIN. Oy. It’s hard to lose a tree that is a close neighbor. There’s a tree outside my front door that I truly love. It was a big, beautiful hemlock. Now it’s totally dead and this is the year it must come down. Alas, it’s been dead a while, so it’s not as hard as cutting a tree that still has life.

Jude- I think you are mostly earth with the rest a work of water and air… not so much fire.,, how close am I? Your soul is so open to it all. If I were there we would have coffee and stitch quietly while laughing to ourselves about lack of control.

Jude~ Inner spin, eh? So if I keep spinning through the transitioning, I won’t fall apart? Feels the opposite. I’m ready for stillness. I do love this 9 though, the colors dark and mysterious.
    Soul-O is looking good, glad he’s a one-patch only!

Well u could just float, but I go back to the spin as in the coma effect, it’s a bit like dancing for me. Gotta keep moving…😂
Love that little patch of story.

I think I recognize that center patch from your seeming lesson. And then Soul-o’s little patch. It’s cooling off here for a few days but I’ll have to water the garden. And figure out what to do with the excess tomatoes.

No rain yesterday/today, but blazing heat … Oof!
Picked okra in the garden early this morning.
    Watch the butterflies 😍
Stitching on Boris, too hot to be out ….
Oh! The tree will scatter itself in acorns and be reborn🌰🌱I like that continuity; rebirth, renewal….around and around like the spiral in your nine patch, speaking of “patch”, I’m glad to hear that rhe felines in our house aren’t the only ones with multiple monikers, Ha! 😻

Greetings from foggy wet Maine. Your acorn, little miracles that they are, reminded me of a show by a native weaver named Jeremy Frey. It is at the portland Museum of art.

he has a different style — like acorns and sea creatures — than most fancy traditional baskets.

Had a crazy lightning show from 1am to 3am! Then some much needed rain. Not much sleep so it’s going to a be slow start this morning 🥱 ☕️

I don’t like to be contentious, but here in North Texas, not ENOUGH rain! Waiting for the Transition. I love the nine patch center of this one…like tonight’s the Sturgeon Moon, maybe?

Here in New Mexico, a week of high 90’s but monsoon rains coming toward the end of the week; I’ll take this temp because it is better than the 100 degrees we have been having. I am not a heat/sun person, autumn, is, my favorite seasons but have learned to “transition” and deal with what comes. When I think of transitioning, I feel that there is a difference in transitioning toward the expected and transitioning toward the unexpected: With the expected, you learn to just go with the flow, With the unexpected, you have to pivot, pull deep within yourself and most of the time, you find that you meet what comes…

If I didn’t live on a hill it wouldn’t be pretty.
I wish I had the time to make all these small story blocks into large cloths…they all seem like centerings.
