Good Morning

That sunlessness.

But of course it's still there. The sun.

I want to talk more about a lot of things  but I don't feel like talking that much today.  Most likely, tomorrow will be another day.

I’m envious of your dark green forest. I love the sunny log cabin; it feeds my inner desire for symmetry. I can no longer hand sew. I miss it.
We’re having some cooler weather, a few days of blissful 80s before we rise to 90s again. Probably too early to hope that the 100s are gone but I can wish.

Hi Jude. I too am in the country right now. When I’m here I use my country eyes, as a long gone radio program host called them, the eyes we use to see the subtle but vast variation of life going on; watching the birds and insects; seeing the incredible variation of shades of green or brown or grey, hearing sounds and seeing shadows that get lost in the city. It’s still warm during the day but much cooler at night. It’s changing.

I love to stitch (well, do anything, really) near or in sunlight. Here, it’s too hot outside. We’ve had some record waves of heat, and I’m looking forward to Fall.
We have bobcats, coyotes, foxes, ring-tailed cats (I forgot their name), deer, and the occasional cougar. I would love to see a wild cougar before I die. Well, not IMMEDIATELY before I die…
Your property is serene. It must be wonderful to know that you’re living so near wildlife that they can wander in. (We have neighborhood fences for “protection”. Jeez)
Tomorrow, may you receive more light!

Cougar, wow. Deer and coyote here and owls and hawks, an occasional eagle. And recently, snakes and turtles, lotsa rain. No fences really. The stone walls are the dividers and harbor smaller creatures.

This has been the perfect start to a Saturday morning. Enjoy both the trees that look like they are patiently waiting for something special, and the log cabin. reminds me of sunrises. You got me hooked on log cabins last summer. I don’t do much with cloth anymore, other than enjoy seeing what others do. My old hands just don’t flex well enough, I guess, but I can still work with paper and have been making my version in paper collage form. Works good for me and I enjoy the results. Of course, I don’t know how many of them that I can give away to people. but I guess we will find out.

I like that paper is a bit easier on old hands, and someday I will lean that way… hope I might use up all this old cloth first!😂

I love this letting go of summer with hints of autumn in the air up there, the land is budding up madly here in the Land Down Under with Spring making everything feel all feisty!

The light changes, the leaves are showing a little tiredness from summers droning heat…but ever-so-slightly, I see/feel a tinge of change in the air…I’ve been watching the birds and squirrels at the feeders today ( no bobcats in our yard…I don’t think!) …in between sealing tile and painting closets…those log cabin squares are such a comfort, they feel like a quick hug 💙

Yes, it was hardly noticeable, but the crickets have begun and there are lots of seeds and berries forming.
The cabins are really like hugging in process.

  7. To know, have a sense of the wild is to have a bigger world understanding…although I would have to get used to it 😉
Turn, turn, turn – to every season…It is a blessing to appreciate them all…even if we will remain hot here 91° – 101° til next Friday. But, the light does have one thing hair of a different feeling. If you only thought of the heat, you could miss that shift.

I also live in the woods on a mountain in TN. I have a screened backporch and love to sit and listen to the animals and birds!! I have a woodpecker that hangs around and he is so cool! It’s a slower pace and I love it after so many years in big cities.

  9. Last really sunny day in the forecast here for awhile. Feels so much like the end of summer. I really have fallen in love with log cabin squares. It seems like they can say so much in a simple way.

the photos of your trees always remind me of nh. i loved all the tall trees and the sounds they make.

a black bear and two cubs napped in a tree 3 houses from me while still there. and here we have raccoons -lots of them!!

personally i like when wildlife is around me — it reminds me that we all share the same space.

Like looking at the moon through a window with a spider-web in front if it.
    So much depth.
Both pictures give a very slight feel of season turning.
    Kind of “wordtired” here too….

Oh, yeah, hang out right on the front steps sometimes. In the dark. They are quite small really. Very fast, not aggressive. Beautiful.

Good morning, Jude! Your glorious Sun looks as though it is made of stained glass. And how I would like to be in that forest of greenery!
