Legs again

And here we are.

OK.

relaxed

Soul-o has stabilized, he is eating and drinking and gaining weight.  I have kept him indoors and he has settled into that.  He is older now and seems content.  I am so relieved. What a nightmare.

I continue with  the Legs Series.  I have taken interest in repetition for the moment, and slow variation , because it is a soft becoming.   Simple is good right now,  a basic thought and then small steps to newness.

This one, Midnight Legs.  For going places in her dreams.  She will not be in the shop.  She became a gift  and has begun her travelling.

Magic Midnight Legs. We need them.

Still overwhelmed with a lot to do.  But here now, I think.  In whatever form it takes.  It cooled down but the  storm rolling up the coast from Florida is dumping an awful lot of rain.  Steady and heavy since late yesterday evening.  But I live on a hill.  For now.

The cat went here and there
And the moon spun round like a top,
And the nearest kin of the moon
    The creeping cat looked up.
Black Minnaloushe stared at the moon,
For wander and wail as he would
The pure cold light in the sky
    Troubled his animal blood.
    Minnaloushe runs in the grass,
    Lifting his delicate feet.
Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?
    When two close kindred meet
What better than call a dance,
    Maybe the moon may learn,
    Tired of that courtly fashion,
    A new dance turn.
    Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
    From moonlit place to place,
    The sacred moon overhead
    Has taken a new phase.
Does Minnaloushe know that his pupils
Will pass from change to change,
And that from round to crescent,
From crescent to round they range?
    Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
    Alone, important and wise,
And lifts to the changing moon
    His changing eyes. W.B. Yeats

So glad Soul-o is improving. You don’t need more loss atm. My big fear during COVID was my elder cat would die..that would have been the final straw. Love to watch your work each week 🌻🐈‍⬛

the basic shibori process is called itajime clamped resist. You can find it all over the internet. I have recently begun to talk more about my approach to dyeing on my private pages, the forever zone, and you might also take a look at my friend Glennis’s site, she has some free classes and I learned the basics of the technique from her.

Jude, I’m curious if the winged beastie is actually a wasp with the white stripes.
Am happy soul-o is better, therefore you’re better.

ha! those crossed paws say it all. we are in the process of moving to a forested area, with an older cat who’s always loved to hunt. hoping that he too will happily settle into being an indoor cat…

So happy for you that Soul-o is on the mend. Blessings on you both!

Midnight Legs is a beauty. Slow in small increments is working well these days.

Jude (on a) Hill and her Stray Self, Soul-O
All the rains were sucked into the storm and brought to you (& I must water my gardens because the plants are fading fast in this heat!!)
But for now, I quietly stitch stars and dream dreams…
(I’ll include good dreams for you and Soul-O —so very glad he’ll be OK!!)

Midnight Legs…all the more beautiful for being gifted. Wish we had some of that rain. Here it is day after day after day of 100* and the Gardens are doing their end-of-Summer thing. To Everything there is a Season …
