A Balancing Act
I call this story cloth that.
It's complicated I say to myself. On and on.
And then I laugh and say yes, but it is actually quite basic.
Simple. It's simply Just Going. Feeling it.
I am going to take this off the wall and put it back on the big round table. Add a layer. Consider how I will stitch/ quilt it. Then that, make it into a quilt. Hold it until it becomes a cloth that can hold me. I will put the cloth I call Grow on the wall for a while.
I'm looking before I do that, how the weight of the season, pulled it out of shape, it looks tired.

I need a cloth that can hold me.
I love your work/words and how they are always beautifully connected with
each other.
Yes, we all need one. A great gift to self.
Who says you can’t put a round peg into square hole. I love the scatterness and contrast of it all.
and still has calm for me
“a cloth that can hold me”
A blanket is a beautiful thing.
Breathing Life into a cloth and allowing it to find its own way of being. ……and then you share it with us….
Am happy to be here and partake.
This is what we can do. To connect.
Love the haphazardness in your story cloth today. It looks just like life can be…events, thoughts, and feelings all over…..here and there and everywhere.
That’s the way it goes…
Oh the Magic! 🖤🤍✨
On and on and on…

Just wonderful piece.
It’s been resting for a l8ng time.
So many wonderful components to keep you just going! I’m glad to hear from you too.
No shortage of cloth friends here. Good company.
There is something about black and white — a combo I would never have tried without seeing your work — that is whimsical and classy.
I am also practicing letting things marinate, to season, to let them lie. Big things to learn!
It’s magic, light and dark. I like how it holds my attention in some kind of momentary breathlessness
Stitches will ease it back into a shape that continues to go.
I’ll make no attempt to control it.
Sounds like a plan! Some fresh air and new stitches and I feel it will shift and hold you in ways you’ve not imagined. Enjoy the just going and the simple.
Shift is can be so small and change everything.
I love how the squares with cloud patterns add a sense of space as it looks like I’m looking through a window of the plain squares to the clouds 🙂
I love that you saw that.
🙂
Hey there, good to see you. It will feel less tired with a shake out and a rest on your big table. Balance takes practice. I am out of balance. The solution to that is simple.
Continuing is practice.
“Hold it until it becomes a cloth that can hold me.” There’s the simple in it.
It’s all I can consider.
Stunning. So glad to hear from you, Jude! 😊
Imagine me here there everywhere.
