Today, all I could think of was... is... Pollen.

This was one of the worst years for “tree sex” here as well! I was miserable, but yes! Like you, I could not stay indoors! Ha!!
The all the trees are leafed-out now…

Ginger tea ( or mint) helps…

Usually if you eat a teaspoon of local raw unfiltered honey starting a few weeks before pollen season you develop an immunity to local pollens. It has helped me a lot. Sometimes I still get the itchy eyes, but a half of a Benadryl takes care of that.

Hi Jude – if your ears are affected by allergies perhaps try sipping on a cup of plantain tea? Just a few sips here and there throughout the day does the trick for me. More than that tends to be a bit laxative. Ground ivy helps too,
although it tastes a bit metallic.

It does make me tired. I do find Flonase helps . If you do those type of meds. It takes a while to become effective. A week or so. And rinsing off in the shower before bed..otherwise the pollen on your hair will be on your pillow and you’ll be breathing & rubbing your face in it all night. 😩

I hate taking meds, I am so used to sitting outside on the porch all day sewing… it is hard to stay indoors.

Me, too Jude. I tried an otc allergy pill but felt so fluxomated (personal dictionary 🥸) and stopped after a day.

I may peace with the pollen on an event (tiny eruption and redness) by event basis. Susun Weed and I talked this approach through and we old women view it like a mirror of the earth erupting over all the this and that’s …

She (the earth) has a way of dealing with irritation; I’m betting many of us are sharing her burden this season.

I take one tiny non-drowsy allergy pill a day, and it works well 👍🏻
It’s an over the counter Walmart brand (equate All Day Allergy Relief).

Hugs and sympathy. Allergies can be so miserable. They have been bad here this year also. Worse after rainy years; more mold and more blooming plants. On bad days I now resort to Flonase. In the past I had to have allergy shots, 6 a week. Got me over my fear of needles LOL.
