Here I am again.
The day is just too beautiful not to share.
Somehow, this seems like a newsletter.ย It's here. It's happening.ย The sudden almost freeze overnight had no real damaging effect on the going.ย Dandelion season is in full swing.ย I pick'm in the morningย and store them in water in the fridge till I eat them in salad for lunch and then, cooked, in the evening.
It was cold enough for a wool sweater yesterday evening.ย I have noticed that some mending is needed.ย The chill was swell actually, knowing how the temperature will climb in the coming days.ย Here it comes,ย the hot summer they expect.ย But here in the mountains, you never know.
I did a bit more stitching.
I think, suddenly, I saw this was becomingย a Tree of Life.ย And then knowingย how I approach things,ย Lives... maybe the beginning of a Tree of Lives Series.
Not So Stray Selves.
I wish you allย beautiful days as we slide into May.ย ย I have chores to do.ย I wish they were all gardening related.
Since I am preparing to be back in the Forever Zone soon, my next post will have a link to the Zone newsletter, which will also be sent via email just to test how it goes.ย Thank you to all of you who have joined me.ย Recently and over the years.ย I just need the smallness of a private space. A less market driven environment.ย ย The thing about storycloth, is, well it is personal.ย ย And I am basically a hermit anyway.
It’s still wool sweater/coat weather here but everyday is different in the garden. The dandelions are starting to go to seed and the ajuga is beautiful right now. I want to move some to other parts of the garden, it’s not very aggressive for me and the bees love it.
still very cool. almost cold near sunset, yet not wishing it away… hot is harder to deal with really.
The ajuga, i love it, it forms a little carpet after blooming, keeps the soil moist and doesn’t seem to bother anything too much, it has very shallow roots and is easy to remove if necessary. If I do I replant it somewhere else.
The hermit part: I am the same. It’s hard to share sometimes on ig because, as much as I like to connect, I don’t.
I am so looking forward to the new class!!
Yous said it like only you can…๐
I never make sense. My mother would say whatever was in her head and expect us to understand it and I’m doing the same thing. haha
But I get it.
Hello Jude
The coming of spring looks wonderful . Weโre in Autumn in Queensland .. not really cold yet .
Jude if I subscribed to forever zone before do I renew my membership?
I wish you love & peace and a wonderful new day ๐๐ฆ
Maria
No, it is forever, you are good.
Waking up to the sweet scent of Jasmin and orange blossom made my heart sing. Along the road the poppies and lupine are blooming; nature sure knows a great color combination. I’m a happy hermit today.
Your sweater reminds me of some of my clothes — old but not giving up.
Oh, lupine is rising. I find the colors very complimentary in early spring, the yellows with the purples, then the rods with all the new green leaves.
I zoomed in on all of the nature shots first…gorgeous! I’ve never heard of bugleweed. It’s beautiful.
I love how worn, but useful your sweater is. I wish I could embrace wool, but – ah, allergic. But, I really like the idea of this one lasting a lifetime. We don’t need much, eh?
Heading towards 70 degrees here, back up into the low 80’s next week.
Our corridor has lots of dandelions, but gracious knows what they spray out there. I’ll enjoy the view, refrain from any eating. But, I would like to try them one day.
It’s also known as ajuga.
Depend on the wool, so.e makes me itchy.
I think 80s are coming soon.
It’s nice to have all the growth here, free from chemicals. My neighbors spray theirs…
Always thank you Jude, for your inspiration.
A hermit here as well… obsessed with gardening, Herbalism & stitchery. I enjoy being a new part of this community.๐
Peace and quiet makes sense after a busy hectic life. Can’t believe I lived and worked in NYC so long…
Another hermit here!
We have a club then!
ZING!!
& Wheeeeeeee!!
Oh, Beguiling Spring!
๐
I always feel expanded by Spring, yet contemplative; look closely, look closely!
Your sweater makes me smile! ๐
Ding, zing, spring!
I love the picture of sun in the grass and bugleweed with last year’s beautiful crumpled brown leaves. I know people who try to get rid of the bugleweed. One of our invasive plants is buttercups, a very cheerful flower.
It is taking over and looks just fine instead of grass…
This piece feels as if itโs bursting inwards and glowing out at the same time.
It’s confusing but that’s about right…
Of course, what caught my eye in this post, other than the beautiful flowers, is the spiral on your sweater sleeve. 26 degrees the other night and one more night of frost warnings, they say. Not looking forward to a hot summer, I melt.
I think this whole sweater will be resurfaced soon. I am patching it with scraps from other old sweaters and garments.
Yeah, hot is tough when you don’t live by the sea…
It’s so humid here.
I guess the old sweater becomes like a warp!
Since I’m unemployed, I qualified for a home energy audit and will probably be getting a mini-split for free… so I’ll have central air, basically. I’m not a fan of air conditioning, really, but these days it’s just gotten too hot for me a few weeks in summer.
Yes! It is like that.
Yeah, the heat and especially the humidity are tough.
Tree of Lives. Yes! Flash and zing come the ideas. Thanks.
Looking forward to exploring this.
All these gorgeous nature photos and my favorite pic here is of the worn wool cuff.
yeah, and I love this sweater… got a basket of wool somewhere around here… I would love to live near some sheep.
Lovely photos of your area plant life! Your stitchery is enigmatically charming. Makes me pause…
Pause is good. the day has paused me.
Me too! A hermit obsessed with stitching ๐
Ha!
Myself, as well!!
dandelions have become a favorite of mine. one day you see lots of little yellow faces and the next the tall stalks with the feathery heads. perhaps this year to try the leaves.
my wool sweater that i still wearing here in the midwest needs to be mended also. nothing like the feel of a felted wool sweater.
they are so good for you, the leaves.
Wool is so special, I need to spend more time with it.
Thank you for the years of inspiration and shared artistry and wisdom. Somehow someway we will eventually meet all our ragmates. What a patchy group that will be!
I have that feeling too
