Green

we wait

This little bird is always there lately.  The wheelbarrow used to carry wood is always outside the front window. I'm lazy about  putting it back under the deck.

it was there all along

It's still raining.  But it's okGreen!

green home

The stray selves continue to take shape on Nine for Peace, the homes have found a green place on the Deep Pool of Thought. It's already spring in my mind. I'm planting seeds.

We’ve had so much rain this winter, I found moss growing in my lettuce patch!! Such a beautiful bright green on a dreary day.

  2. Ahhh, seeds, I’m not ready for seeds. I’m still in Winter mode! Even here, I saw a spot of moss today… mostly is still snow. Cute bird. I have tons of golden crowned kinglets this year, do you?

After seven months of brown the Season of Green has arrived here too. The air smells so good. Mosses have always fascinated me; there is such a variety. I love the velvety softness.

’tis the season for mosses. This is their chance to gain lots of light before the canopy of tree and plant leaves roofs over them. A close look is always worth while with these tiny beings. If anyone wants to know more, ‘Gathering Moss’ by Robin Wall Kimmerer is a wonderful exploration. Robin is a Potawatomi member and a professor of environmental biology weaving two world views together. If you grow or gather wild plants, her book Sweetgrass is a must, sanity in our insane world.
    Green blessings!

      I have both.
One of the best thing about this place are the mosses. Astounding really.
That and the wild thyme. The snow nourishes them. I am in heaven… crawling on my hands and knees to look closer.
