yeah

So maybe this is giving me the new eyes I need right now. An exit from thingness. At least for a while.

I got more pins.  Never thought I would need more pins.

a new kind of magic, the process kind

  1. Reminds me of those photographs of the Universe; especially the latest Hubble sister photos of endless spheres of light. My work is based on the infinite nature of space and the molecular structure of all that is. I feel your work reflects the same “reality”. A real treat to see all these patches pinned together, moving and sparkling.

I love how all the moons appear like far away stars in a night sky and the black and white part looks like the bottom of a love heart, the top blown open

Gasping out loud in wonder and delight here. Gives a whole new dimension to puzzle pieces and play. And to small cloth turning into BIG.

These are fascinating as well as the trip to buy pins. One wouldn’t think pins would be so difficult to find. Can I ask a question about your dyed patches? Are you using a resist then to make the shapes in them? I do a bit of botanical dying but not with indigo. All my plant dyes need a warm dye bath so wax doesn’t work for them. I’m trying to get brave enough to maybe do some bleach marks on them. After I’ve worked for several days to get the cloth the color I want, removing some of it is counterintuitive.

Thank you. I have a friend who keeps an indigo vat and I’ve had the opportunity to try that with her. I’m looking forward to trying it again.

I love this collage on the wall! And the basket in front too. I make baskets so they always catch my eye. Did you make that too?
You are my -almost- everyday breakfast enjoyment in Australia.

I didn’t. I would love to make baskets. Maybe I should try… I made a really small one once but gee, now you have me thinking about it in a bigger way.

“Really something” is an understatement! So much love for the little coyote/wolf, the tan face floating just above and the moon w/ dark cloud floating within. I enlarged and could look for a long long time! Hard to imagine how it must feel to live with them, touch them.

Love the transparent-ish Tree growing upward and through your Universe in the second photo…the last photo suggests the Orderliness of the Universe!

  7. You inspired me yesterday to start putting patches on my “Peace and Plenty” blanket. 🙂 All the big blankets do seem like bases. Looking forward to seeing where you go!

Oh, WOW!!! It’s your universe! I love this. There’s nothing like looking at a bigger picture to give some perspective. Such beautiful elements.
    Thanks for sharing, Jude!

  9. It’s so awesome to see all these patches in one place like this. It gives me new enthusiasm for some patching I need to do on a couch cloth that gets a lot of wear. I’ll just keep on patching it!
