I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts and seeing your compositions. I seem to have to make something useful which is limiting. Your thoughts have lead me to consider its limitations.

I really loved hearing you speak to the story behind your work today-as you do often. It’s real and honest. It’s what I really love about your blog. Thanks.

Hate to hear about your teeth. Hope the fix is quick and not too traumatic. I had the most wonderful dentist for so many years. He was just such a nice guy and really concentrated on how the patient was taking things and not just the technical thing that he was doing. I told him once that he couldn’t retire until I moved away or died, but he retired anyway—-how inconsiderate of him! We’ve bounced around with a couple of others since then and they have been okay but nothing like Dr. Smith.

I left my favorite dentist behind when I moved, but I heard she retired anyway. Haven’t found one I really like since I moved here.

This Autumn patch is so full of Fall…so beautiful.
Teeth…pain, ugh. I’ve been in strong sciatica pain all week, so not much ‘thinking’ going on. sigh.
    Feel better, quick.

Listening to you describe and seeing the evolution of these pieces reminded of the benefits of play – I wonder- What if… I have been trying to finish UFOs which is fine but there has been something missing. Thanks for the nudge to play more.

Just this morning I was looking for something in my camera roll and saw one cloth composition after another and felt a pang at their disappearance. So for me it’s a dance between being comfortable about the fluidity and ephemeral nature of this and being disappointed.

Having major tooth trauma myself right now, I’d say I feel your pain but I’m too busy feeling my own. I’m so sorry. Hope it’s a simple and relatively painless fix!

Interesting Dee. I rock between comfort and, well not sure disappointment. but some sort of stress I cannot name. I think more comfort has arrived though, and joy is replacing worry.

      Teeth. We’ll see.

Love the Ninepatch, but absolutely ADORE “Autumn Frost” (somehow, my mother came to mind right away) and placed against that woven background; wow!
Ugh, so sorry about the teeth …I feel ya, you and Dee, right there w ya …”getting old ain’t for sissies”! Hah!

Woven bases are brilliant and I’m grateful you shared that with us because I use them a lot now. Just adding cloth to the back of them is enough for a light quilt.
Your snowflake piece… it’s huggable. I love what it evokes; a few years living in an old Victorian house and how old but decadent the aura of the place was.
Expectation and hope and dreaming are tough on the heart for me. I’ve never learned my lesson and I am ok with that. Your stress you cannot name reminds me of that.

    Collaging fabric, super fun!
Time off is good! Also sorry about your teeth.
My dentist scolds me are you opening or tearing things with your teeth!?NO. Just biting into food.
    Be well.

  8. First…teeth, hope that is able to be taken care of soon and that you feel better. And then, love “train of thought.” That got me thinking about the role of engineers and conductors and train tracks, and whistles…

    Oh, my!! Broken teeth!!
So sorry to hear that, Jude.
I truly am drawn to your “Autumn Frost.” It is, after all, where we are at present…the colors are Autumn- rich..
    Please take care of yourself.🥺
