The Slow Melt

Slower than stitch.

But Forever comes and goes. Despite rain, above freezing temperatures, the snow here shrinks  like a glacier.  Nothing seems to change. But I see color through the foggy dampness.  Look at that lichen. And the old goldenrod stalks.  Big warm up this week will bring more visible change.

Love brings growth. Trying to remember that...what a world.

I see cat hair.

I've not much to say lately. Or I don't know how.

  1. Back in HS, my first dye experiments were with lichen. The woods surrounding us were filled with it and library books(remember those?) promised color!
And here I am, in a completely different season of my life, dyeing again.
I’m dreaming of your coming spring!

Love brings growth. I see cat and dog hair.
1,700 miles and I’m back home again in Indiana, for good. Rain, rain and more rain. My 2 grown boys standing before me. It’s good to be home.

Oh, I love that lichen green…just ordered some hand dyed black and over-dyed green wools for a Garden poppet I will make. Just buried the linen in my Garden soil, awaiting the returning rains…
Love your stitched piece, those greens! Beautiful, Jude.

It is the same here in the corner of northwestern lower Michigan. Warming temps in the 50s and rain and still tons of snow and as this snow slowly melts we have mud up to our knees.
