The site was down for a while for audio repair(audio is now in 2 formats, at least one should work for you) Part one of this post was documented on the day the site went down before it could be published. Part 2 was added later, because as usual what I was thinking was soon replaced with what was rethought.
PART 1
So I am here going, surprised really that it continues to be possible. Rethinking my own safety zone.
It's OK
...seems like a new vision of home forming
PART 2
I am adding this part to the post because time has past and I am playing back-track and catch-up at the same time...Thinking can be a rocking back and forth.
Free Going
Let me make a note here too, that this series will continue through October and then I will need to disappear for a while. I expect to be gone from the internet through December, starting fresh in the New Year. In a New Place.
A Stay Put Person. Married to a Traveling Man. That’s me. Your voice is like a Meditation for me. I listen and all is calm and centered. Wish I had found you for all the other classes. But here now and..thank you.
whenever I come here, it’s like coming to your home… and because you’ve so graciously opened it up to all of us, it’s become our home also… ever filled with delightful delicacies, each audio/video a tasty treat, no matter how many times we ponder it. Jude, your home has “kaleidoscope eyes”, an ever-changing view! the “see” will always be within you.
You are such a great teacher. We are all so very lucky. Thank you.
I didn’t quite realize how much I was missing these. I have felt a little lost recently — at least, creatively. And I thought it was because of time and kids and fall activities and all the things… but I think i was just missing the faith that my work is always moving, and little stitches will get me there… Thank you so much for sharing with us! I enjoy your rambling so very much!!
I was missing it too
…what Grace said…! Hard to believe you are really moving and undergoing this upheaval. Yet the cloth and stitching are such a constant. This is such a lesson…love all of it!
when I look back I will probably see the upheaval in it. And appreciate it…
My mind is just whirling with “Uh-huh, Uh-huh, EXACTLY, yes!”–and trying to figure out how to convey what your words make me feel, how it ALL resonates with me…and then I scroll thru others’ comments, and Grace said it best: O EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Yup, that about covers it.
( I am still re-watching, re-listening, still absorbing ALL your videos, recorded thoughts.)
For me; it’s easy to show the pictures. SO HARD to share what is REALLY going on behind them.
THANK YOU, Jude, for giving voice to what so many of us are feeling. xoxoxox
the audio has been my biggest help with getting the thoughts out. Some folks like to leave stuff to interpretation, but I like so much to say, to share the thoughts, not just the image.
….hmm…maybe it’s time for me to move out of my comfort zone & share more!? (insert “eek!!” face here)
and anther eeeeeeeee
Nice to have you back. I’ve been off doing other things, following other paths. But looking at my new creations in retrospect I am surprised to see how influenced they are by what I have absorbed from you. Thank you for playing around with our hidden depths, stimulating creative juices, like the singing bowls of yoga.
Sorry my comments always end up in the wrong place!
any place is an ok place.
We need to absorb from each other. we shall evolve. A singing basket perhaps? Ha.
Spiritcloth journey….
You are my kindred spirit Jude 💙 thank you for sharing your thoughts!
back atcha
“More of a stay- put person.” I definitely feel you there. I’ve been out as much as home lately and it doesn’t feel right. When I get homesick (which I get even at home, sometimes) I’ll retreat to my mind, my only real home. I have countless gardens and worlds there, and, sometime, I’ve got to find a way put every one of them to cloth.
Hugs, stay well, Jude, and the same to all of you, Ragmates.
I could always sense your depth of place/ home.
love the way you document moving through what you were then to what you are becoming now
“Form is really about bearing witness to a moment.” I wrote it down. And, “Witnessing one thing touch another… ” “Static becoming organic” being a place of energy/interest. Other big take aways: that any piece in the house is not finished. That is somehow liberating. I think that’s counter-intuitive, how easily that could be construed as burden.
As for creating, I guess as someone who started quilting when I had two young very active boys, I knew from the beginning that it was work that could be done in the shoulders of a day and that by sticking to it, a momentum or habit got built that was bigger than one might expect. I’m glad you’re finding this in your time of incredible upheaval.
(and, writing does NOT work that way for me. I need more time both for the act and time around it, too).
I suppose I have become so focused on the thought that even having something around to look at makes it seem as if it is still in process. That I might simply have a bit more to say about it.
Writing, yes, I am working on that book and I know what you mean. It has me reconsidering book. What new kind of form might emerge because of how I need to work.
O EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
and eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
oh, oh
What a FLOOD of Everything
While you are gone i will replay this post over and over and over
